Nicu P is a generative artist who is passionate about creating unique visual experiences through the use of technology. One of his latest ventures is in the world of DIY Arduino projects.
Arduino Genart Controller
Generative art is created with computer code that depends on parameters. These can vary in time according to rules set by the programmer. The artwork is being rendered and it is meaningful (hopefully).
What if you wanted to tweak and play with the art while it’s being generated? This is where a custom controller is much more efficient than a computer keyboard.
The DIY Arduino controller is tailored for generative art and utilizes the MIDI protocol to establish direct communication with the browser, making it a plug-and-play device.
Since the code can run on any browser, the whole artwork is plug-and-play (it is not confined to a computer screen, it can be easyprojected on walls, art installations with a video projector).
Viewers Become Creators
With the Arduino controller, viewers become creators as they can manipulate different parameters of the visuals in real-time, allowing for a more interactive experience.
Arduino Laser Harp
The laser harp will be a standalone instrument used to create music while also manipulating the visuals of p5js (javascript) sketches.
It features a combination of lasers, light sensors and distance sensors that will trigger and adjust different parameters in the sketches, creating a unique audio-visual experience that is truly one-of-a-kind.
