2026, Kinetic + sound installation
4 electromechanical nodes attempt to preserve and reproduce each other’s behavior, but every attempt introduces transformation and deviation.
The installation consists of 4 nodes: freestanding copper structures (approx. 170–180 cm high), each containing a small motor mechanism, buzzer-based sound amplification, and piezoelectric sensing elements. One node produces a mechanical phrase through movement (rotation of the top ring) and vibration; the others detect this event and attempt to reconstruct it. The reproduced signal is never identical. Small differences in timing, intensity, and material response accumulate with every exchange.
Consensus Drift treats deviation as the condition through which the system continues to exist. The nodes constantly negotiate between repetition and change, creating temporary moments of agreement that inevitably dissolve into new patterns.
The work translates the question of preserving and transforming what is inherited into a physical situation where sound, movement, and material reveal the continuous process of change.
